Arousal and Aggression

What is arousal?

Is that seemingly non-stop whirling dervish simply a friendly, high-energy dog or is he aroused and potentially aggressive? Do fleeting "hello's" indicate a distracted social greeting or a dog who's more concerned with his environment than you?

This workshop will explore the often complicated and misunderstood topic of arousal. How arousal impacts on a dog's relationship with people and other dogs will be looked at.

Defensive Handling

This topic has never been more timely.

Some dogs can be extremely difficult and dangerous to handle. How can you tell?

This hands-on workshop will cover, in depth, how to quickly assess when a dog will be a challenge to handle and will provide practical handling techniques to keep you and those around you safe.

Whether you work in a shelter or as a private trainer, this is a must.

Temperament Testing

Testing dogs is essential before placing them. Without knowing a dog's temperament, it is very risky to place with a member of the public.

This workshop will be a step-by-step guide to temperament testing shelter dogs. Learn how to accurately assess who a dog is and what kind of placement is appropriated. Determine whether a dog is best suited to a family with young children , whether or not a dog can be placed in household with other dogs and /or cats and much more.

This workshop is essential for anyone who is involved in placing, training, or rescuing dogs.

More About Jean Campbell & her Dog Paintings....

Jean Campbell's work is shown widely throughout New York State.

Mode Magazine recently noted "It would be an understatement to say Campbell's paintings hit close to home: they find the house, knock on the door, come inside and stay for dinner."

Campbell, the 1998 Obrig Prize winner at the National Academy in New York City loves to paint dogs because, in her own words, "Of all animals, dogs seem to come closest to concerning themselves wih human thought, human relationships."

A portion of all sales proceeds donated to: TRAINING WHEELs™ program of Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption.
